Robotic DHI Hair Transplant. Grafts implanted in minutes, not hours.

Each graft is extracted and implanted in one continuous cycle, so it spends only 10 to 15 minutes outside the body. The procedure is surgeon-led, with robotic precision for depth, angle and placement. Spending less time outside the body means less stress on each graft, which gives every follicle a better chance of growing.

Consult at our Bristol branch. Your procedure takes place at Este Surgery, our CQC-registered clinic in Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Robotic CII Protocol to Keep Hair Grafts Outside the Body for just 10-15 Minutes

Once a hair graft is removed from your scalp, it’s cut off from its blood supply until it’s implanted again. In a conventional hair transplant, grafts are usually extracted in one large batch, stored, then implanted in a second stage. This means some grafts can wait outside the body for three to four hours.

Continuous immediate implantation (CII) works differently. Each graft is extracted, cleaned and implanted in a continuous cycle using robotic DHI, so it spends roughly 10 to 15 minutes outside the body. Less time out of the body means less stress on each graft, which is designed to support graft survival and give every follicle the best chance of growing.

Conventional sequential procedure Robotic DHI with CII
Extraction and implantation Two separate stages One continuous cycle
Typical time grafts spend outside the body Up to 3-4 hours Around 10-15 minutes
Implantation Manual, by hand Surgeon-led, with robotic assistance for depth, angle and placement
Donor area Varies by technique Minimally invasive micro-punch extraction

Continuous immediate implantation means each graft goes back into the scalp shortly after extraction, instead of waiting up to three to four hours. This is designed to support graft survival.

02

Surgeon-led, with robotic precision.

Your surgeon extracts and implants every graft. The robotic system supports consistent depth, angle and placement during implantation.

03

Gentle on the donor area.

A minimally invasive micro-punch technique is designed to support healing in the donor area.

04

Natural-looking results.

Careful placement of each graft helps create a hairline that suits your face and hair pattern.

What is a Robotic Hair Transplant?

A robotic hair transplant is an innovative hair restoration technique that combines advanced technology with expert surgical skills. Using a state-of-the-art robotic system, the procedure uses the DHI method, which allows for the precise extraction and implantation of hair follicles.

With robotic DHI, your surgeon extracts and implants every graft. The robotic system doesn’t perform the procedure. It assists your surgeon during implantation, supporting consistent depth, angle and placement, so grafts can go straight back into the scalp as part of the continuous CII cycle.

FAQ’s

Does a robotic hair transplant work?

Robotic DHI is a hair transplant technique, so it moves healthy follicles from a donor area to thinning areas, where they continue to grow. Results vary from person to person. Your surgeon will give you a realistic expectation at consultation, based on your hair loss and donor supply.

Robotic hair transplant VS FUE: what is the difference?

In traditional FUE, hair follicles are manually extracted and implanted by the clinician, with all placement controlled by hand. With robotic DHI, the clinician still extracts and implants every graft. The robotic system does not perform the procedure. Instead, it assists the clinician by supporting consistent depth, angle, and placement during implantation. This added precision helps reduce scalp trauma, improve graft consistency, and support faster recovery.

Does the robot carry out the surgery?

No. Your surgeon performs every stage. The robotic system supports the precision of implantation and doesn’t replace your surgeon’s judgement.

Is a robotic hair transplant safe?

Like any surgical procedure, a robotic hair transplant carries risks, including swelling, infection, scarring and grafts that don’t take. Your surgeon will explain these fully before you decide. All procedures take place at our CQC-registered clinic in Bristol.

What is CII?

CII stands for continuous immediate implantation. Instead of extracting all the grafts first and implanting them later, each graft is implanted shortly after it’s extracted. This keeps the time grafts spend outside the body to around 10 to 15 minutes.

Why does the time grafts spend outside the body matter?

Grafts outside the body have no blood supply. The shorter that period, the less stress the follicle is under before it’s back in the scalp. CII is designed to keep this time as short as possible to support graft survival.

How do I know if a robotic hair transplant is right for me?

The best way to determine if a robotic hair transplant procedure is suitable for you is to book a consultation with our specialists. During the consultation, we will evaluate your hair loss, discuss your goals, and provide personalised recommendations based on your unique needs and circumstances.
